Kelly McDonald’s art journey is a testament to embracing the strength & passion that lies within. Finding, “beauty in passion” said Kelly, “also brings connection to the art”.
Creating her own unique abstract style, with using textured organic and unique materials such as the earth, soil, sand, shells and rocks to help truly convey the depth of human nature, a feeling, an experience, passion and emotional interpretation. Kelly is also a poet, creating a beautiful poem or romantic phrase to express her view on each piece.

Kelly began her artistic journey as a young girl in Sacramento Ca, it began while in elementary school where her art was featured in the Crocker art museum in Sacramento, CA. She continued to celebrate every moment as a moment for art.
Keeping her talents hidden as a young adult, she was forced to find work to support herself.
Starting a career as a Hair Artist in Chico Ca. excelling in her craft, only to find herself again & bring her back to her true calling.
Kelly then became a mother of her two beautiful boys Cedar and Kove. Her testament.
Kelly’s world is driven with a Heart of passion and understanding, her desires for the natural elements and beauty that this world has to offer is displayed in all of her artwork.
After a strong spiritual awaking that brought her to her senses, she decided to follow her heart back to her most beloved place, Lake Tahoe, CA where she grew up spending her summers with her mama and her grandmother, whom was a Nevada local.
“My heart is buried in this soil and my soul is swimming in this lake.” Said Kelly.
However, Kelly is a sun chaser and an island lover of many. It was on an incredible journey through the islands of the Bahamas, when she discovered a dream world the other half of her spirit. On a breathtaking island called Harbour Island aka. Briland, known by the locals and well traveled. This is where she had another spiritual awakening pushing her deeper into her artistic passions; knowing, “here, has the other half of my heart”.
Kelly begun to peruse her dream and share her art work with the island, “Harbour Island will be with me forever”. She’s said this special place inspires her art with the upmost passion for the natural and breathtaking beauty on this planet.
Past celebrity commissioned art include Canadian Film Director, Bill Cocoran, Director of films such as, “Black Beauty”.
